Lt. Col. Casey McKenna
Clinic Commander
In May 2004, Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Casey McKenna received his commission in the Medical Service Corps from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY.
He graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a minor in Systems Engineering. After completion of the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Officer Basic Course at Fort Sam Houston, TX, in October 2004 he was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq with 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. After returning to Fort Hood, TX, in 2005, he was assigned as the Medical Platoon Leader for 3/8 CAV, deploying with his platoon to Balad, Iraq, in 2006. After one year in theater, he was assigned as the Headquarters Company Executive Officer for a three month extension and redeployment.
In 2008, LTC McKenna was assigned as the Executive Officer for the Great Plains Regional Dental Command, and Company Commander for the Ft. Hood Dental Activity, Ft. Hood, TX. In 2011, after completion of Captain’s Career Course, he attended the Army-Baylor program. In 2013 he completed his administrative residency at Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH) in Ft. Belvoir, VA, earning his dual Masters degrees in Health Administration and Business Administration from Baylor University. He then served as Chief of Managed Care at FBCH for two years. LTC McKenna was assigned to Tripler Army Medical Center as Chief of Managed Care in 2015, and served as the Tripler Hospital Executive Officer from 2016-2018. He then served as the Deputy Commander for Administration (DCA) of Lyster Army Health Clinic from 2018-2020. He was most recently assigned as DCA of Keller Army Community Hospital, West Point, NY, from 2020-2022.
LTC McKenna’s military education includes the Basic Parachutist Course, AMEDD Officer Basic Course, AMEDD Officer Advanced Course, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Course, the Command and General Staff Officer Course, the AMEDD Executive Skills Course, the AMEDD Iron Major Week, and the AMEDD and Army Pre-Command Courses.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal w/2OLC, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal w/3OLC, Meritorious Unit Citation w/OLC, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (3), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Ribbon (2).
He is accompanied by his wife, Heidi McKenna, and his two sons, Mason and Brayden McKenna. LTC McKenna has been a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives since 2017.
Sgt. 1st Class Bryan K. Schwarzman
Detachment Sergeant
Sergeant First Class Bryan K. Schwarzman enlisted in the Army in 2003 as a Health Care Specialist (MOS 68W). He attended Basic Combat Training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina and completed his Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Sergeant First Class Schwarzman’s previous duty assignments include 1-63 AR in Vilseck, Germany, United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases Ft. Detrick, MD, Military Transition Team Medical Advisor during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) from 2006-07. After OIF, Sergeant First Class Schwarzman completed the Army Practical Nurse course and earned the M6 identifier and assigned to Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) Honolulu, HI. While at TAMC, Sergeant First Class Schwarzman was selected to serve as the Commander’s Driver. After his tour at TAMC, he completed Airborne School and was assigned to 82 BSB in Ft. Bragg, NC. Sergeant First Class Shwarzman also served as a Basic Leader Course instructor at the XVIII Airborne Corps NCO Academy. Sergeant First Class Schwarzman was then nominated and selected to serve in the Project Warrior (PW) program.
His phase one of PW was at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) Fort Polk, LA where he was an Observer, Coach, Trainer (OC-T). He completed his phase two of PW assigned to the Medical Battle Lab within Capability
Development Integration Directorate in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Sergeant First Class Schwarzman’s military education includes the Basic Leader Course, Practical Nurse Course, Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Airborne, SHARP, Advanced Leader Course, Jumpmaster, Army Basic Instructor Training Course, Small Group Instructor Training Course, Senior Leader Course (Commandant’s List), JRTC OC-T Course, Capability Developer Course, Health Service Plans Operations, Intelligence, Security Training, Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness. Sergeant First Class Schwarzman holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Management.
