Optometry
Our Optometry Clinic provides comprehensive eye care for eligible beneficiaries, combing medical expertise with advanced technology to support vision readiness and long-term health.
We evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of vision and eye conditions. When specialty or surgical care is needed, we coordinate referrals to the Ophthalmology Clinic at LRMC or other TRICARE authorized providers.
Who We See (Eligibility)
- Active duty service members and active duty TRICARE Prime beneficiaries
- Active duty family members (age 5 and older)
- Retirees (Space-A basis, within 5 business days)
- TRICARE-enrolled patients visiting or on TDY requiring acute eye care
- TRICARE For Life beneficiaries
Services Provided
We offer a full range of Optometry services, including:
- Routine eye exams and vision assessments
- Vision readiness and military physicals
- Glasses prescription updates
- Driver's license vision screenings
- Occupational Health and deployment-related vision care
- Acute vision care (red eye, irritation, sudden vision concerns)
- Diagnosis and management of ocular diseases
- Eyeglass fitting and minor repairs (Active Duty & Retirees)
- Ordering of military eyewear
What to Bring to Your Appointment
To ensure the most accurate exam, please bring:
- Your current eyeglasses
- Contact lenses and/or prescription information (box of written RX)
Referrals & Coordination of Care
If additional testing or specialty treatment is required, referrals will be coordinated through TRICARE to ensure continuity of care and coverage.
If no Optometry appointments are available at Wiesbaden Army Health Clinic, patients may seek care off post to include; PX Optical Center on Hainerberg, Economy, or LRMC Optometry. Anything paid out of pocket (Economy/PX Optical) may be submitted to TRICARE for reimbursement. Please keep payment receipt for submission. If you have any additional questions regarding reimbursement, please contact TRICARE directly.

Active duty family members may need a referral if seeking care off post if you do NOT wish to pay out of pocket. Please note, if not using a referral, reimbursement may take several months to receive after submitting to TRICARE.
