Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO)
Overview:
The PEBLO (Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer) provides administrative support and counseling to service members who are referred and approved to go through the MEB process.
The PEBLO serves as the service members main point of contact between providers, commanders, and the Physical Evaluation Board.
Scope of service:
The PEBLO provides administrative support to service members by gathering records and documents that are needed in determining a fit or unfit finding.
The PEBLO counsels service members on the DES (Disability Evaluation System) process. And counsels service members on findings of the MEB phase and PEB phase of the DES process.
Eligible Beneficiaries:
Service members who are referred to the MEB by their PCM or treating Physician. A referral is generated when a provider initiates a P3 or P4 profile. The MEB provider will review the referral to determine if the SM is eligible to proceed with the MEB.
Service members who are approved to start the MEB will be assigned a PEBLO.
