COVID-19 Booster Vaccines:

Army MTFs in Europe received authorization to begin administration of COVID-19 booster vaccines to specific high-risk population groups based on U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention emergency use authorization guidance.

1. For those who received either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine primary two-dose series, the following groups are eligible for a single COVID-19 booster shot six or more months after the initial series:
· 65 years and older
· 18 years and older with underlying medical conditions
· 18 years and older who live in long-term care settings
· 18 years and older who work or live in high-risk settings.

Additional information about each category is available at:

2. For individuals 18 years and older who received the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine primary dose, a single COVID-19 vaccine booster dose is recommended two or more months after the initial dose.

Mix and Match: The FDA also amended the EUAs for COVID-19 vaccines to allow “mixing and matching” of any of the available COVID-19 vaccines when used as a booster regardless of original vaccine administered.

At this time, the FDA and CDC DO NOT recommend COVID-19 boosters for people who do not fit into the categories above.

We anticipate to first start vaccinating our health care staff, in line with the FDA and CDC guidance. Additionally, we are expecting our COVID-19 booster vaccine appointments to become available throughout November. We will update with the latest information and opportunities via social media and the website.

Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for ages 5-11

On October 29, 2021 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19 to include children 5 through 11 years of age. On November 2, 2021 the CDC provided recommendations for its use.

An order has been placed for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for ages 5-11 and we expect to receive the vaccine in 10-14 days.

Upon arrival, we will announce upcoming vaccination opportunities for those patient populations through our social media platforms and this webpage.
