Public/Preventive Health/Community Health Nurse

Public Health Services:

Mission: Army Public Health Nursing (APHN) enables Total Force readiness through promoting population-focused health, mitigating disease and injury, assuring Force Health Protection, informing policy, and responding to emerging health threats
This unique nursing subspecialty decreases the burden of disease and injury while actively promoting health and wellness of the community. The Army Public Health Nurse applies nursing science principles to the public health process to enhance protective measures and mitigate risk that threatens the public’s health.

  • Epidemiologic Surveillance, Management, and Reporting
  • Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) Program
  • HIV Coordinator
  • Tobacco Cessation Facilitator
  • Annual Influenza Campaign Coordinator
  • Child Youth Services (CYS) Health Consultant
  • Health Promotion and Community Outreach Services
  • Preventive Medicine Unit Briefings
 

Please contact the Stuttgart Army Public Health Department to:

  •  report a communicable disease (food borne illness, vaccine preventable disease, disease of public health concern, sexually transmitted diseases, or HIV)
  • report a cold weather injury
  • report a hot weather injury
  • Asymptomatic STI testing: schedule an appointment for confidential testing of sexually transmitted diseases
    • If you have STI symptoms or your partner tested positive - Please schedule an appointment with your Primary Care Provider
  • schedule a unit presentation on STI and HIV prevention or other services offered
  • request Public Health participation for a health promotion outreach event

Closed: Federal Holidays and on the 1st and 3rd Thursday afternoon of the month for training
