Lab & Pathology Services
The Department of Clinical Laboratory Services offers an array of diagnostic testing. We provide support for all branches of the military, their dependents, and all eligible beneficiaries of the clinic. Medically necessary clinical diagnostic laboratory tests are ordered by a health care provider. Tests are done to help diagnose or rule out a suspected illness or condition. Preventive tests and screenings help to prevent, find, or manage a medical problem.
Services Provided:
Specimens for testing are collected by laboratory or clinic personnel. Testing is performed in the laboratory by a variety of manual methods and sophisticated automated instruments. Tests not performed in the clinic lab are forwarded to reference labs in Germany or the United States.
How to complete labs:
No appointment is necessary for our services. Samples are collected on a walk-in basis. After you have seen a provider, they will place Lab orders in our Electronic Health Record system/MHS Genesis. You can complete the lab orders by visiting the clinic during posted lab hours and select a ticket from the kiosk system. **NOTE: Some tests may require that you fast for 12 Hours the day prior to testing and you may also have to provide a urine sample. We do not take order from outside/off-post providers.
Important Information:
If testing for hCG (pregnancy) or a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI), please see Family Medicine front desk during Nursing Hours Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. to have an order placed. To utilize Nursing Hours, take a ticket from the kiosk by selecting "Family Medicine" then "Need an Appointment". Lab does not have authority to place orders and will cause delays.
Military getting biannual HIV test for Medical Readiness, take a ticket from the kiosk by selecting "laboratory" then "HIV". Please have a seat near the lab waiting area and listen for your name/number to be called.
